Poetry Workshop

Our poetry workshop is an exciting place where members meet to talk about everything. You can work on poetry drafts, update members on personal topics, conduct a class on a poetry topic, and many other great ideas. You are automatically signed into the workshop when you register or join our site. Be sure to check out the "help" section of the Workshop--found within the actual workshop--and you will be posting and replying in no time! Join the poetry workshop today, and see what our online poetry family is all about.

Overview for Newcomers:
Our online poetry workshops are what sets World of Poets apart from other poetry communities. Not only do you get to meet many different members here, you also have an opportunity to create, and take part in, many different workshops.

Our workshops are conducted within a framework called a Bulletin Board. The workshops are separted by forums. At first, the bulletin board can seem pretty overwhelming. But fear not! After just a few hours, you'll be an expert in no time!

When you registered for World of Poets, your member name and password were automatically updated into the bulletin board. Simply click on the Poetry Workshops link, enter your member name and password, and you can get started!

If for any reason you are having difficulty accessing the Poetry Workshops, contact us here.

Poetry Workshop Terminology
When you first visit the poetry workshops (boards), you will see a few different areas. The following will give you a better understanding of the layout of a bulletin board.

Forums
Forums serve as filing cabinets for each theme of workshops. For example, one of our forums is called Admin Avenue. This forum (filing cabinet) contains different workshops (folders) relative to administation. Our workshops are also known as boards.

Boards
Boards are the workshops (folders) within each forum (filing cabinet). They separate the different workshops within a particular forum. For example, within the Admin Avenue Forum, I have 3 different workshops (boards) which contain different topics or files.

Topics
Topics (files) are created by members. They are the subjects members start, or reply to, within each Board. So, all you really have to worry about is finding a Board--workshop-- you like and start posting and responding. Here is the basic concept, mapped out:

(Forum=filing cabinet/theme)-->(Board=folders/workshops)-->(Topics=files/member messages)
