You have several options available to you when you post your poetry on World of Poets. You are allowed 3 posts per day. Your new posts appear on the New Poems List, and will remain on the list until each one receives 5 Critiques or Feedbacks. If you fall behind in returning your poetry reviews, you will be unable to post new poems to the site until you are caught up. YOU CAN NOW VIEW THE REVIEWS FOR EACH POEM BY CLICKING ON YOUR POEM TITLE!

| Rating Your Poems |
|
Selecting the appropriate rating is very important. Because of the diverse group of people here at World of Poets, please think carefully which rating should accompany your poem.

G-Rating: Generaly Accepted. A G rated poem is appropriate for children of all ages. The poem does not contain sexual content, objectionable material, or adult themes.
|
| |
|
R-Rating: Restricted Access. An R rated poem is appropriate for adults only. The poem contains mild sensuality, objectionable material, or appropriate adult themes.
|
| |
|
W-Rating: Warned Appropriately. A W rated poem is appropriate for adults willing to read poetry that exhibits but is not limited to: strong sexual content, harsh language, controversial themes.

World of Poets does not censor its members. However, in accordance with our Terms of Use, we reserve the right to ban any member who posts works that exhibits racism, hate, violence, bigotry, slander, libel, character attacks, prejudice, condemnation of character or any other verbiage construed as offensive to our membership.

| Choosing a Category |
|
Try to post your poem in the appropriate poem category, we have over 60 to choose from! This will enable members to find your poem more easily. You may change the category at any time, should you decide later that the poem would fit better in a different poetry category.

| Choosing a Form |
|
You can choose to post any form of genre you wish, we have over 70 to choose from! If you are not sure of the genre of your poem, you may select free verse or n/a, which will allow you to post the poem. Have fun with learning new poetry genres by trying your hand at the many different poetry forms and genres that are available to you as a member of our online community.

| Choosing a Status |
|
For Review: Poem will be available for all members to review and poem title will be black.
|

Share Only: Poem will not be available for members to review, but will be readable. Poem title will be maroon.
|
| You can change this setting, and all other poem settings, by going to My Poems List (link to poet's poems list) and changing your settings there.

| Where Poems Are Posted |
|
Once you submit a poem to our membership, your poem does not just land on the New Release List. All of your poetry maintains an active lifestyle within the entire site. This ensures that your poetry gets the maximum exposure. Listed below are many of the locations you will be able to find poems and your poetry on the site. Be sure to accurately select your genres and categories! This will ensure that your poem appears in many places. The lists are not static! Based upon review activity, they change constantly, so be sure to check all the lists frequently.

|
Your new posts appear on the New Release List, and will remain on the list until each one receives 5 Critiques or Feedbacks. Please be patient, your poem may not appear right away on the New Release List, as they appear in order.

| Home page |
|
The poets you see on the Home Page each day are randomly selected. So one day, you will see your poetry there! Your poetry also will obviously appear on your own Home Page as well. The only time you would not appear on the Home Page, is if you have been inactive for more than 4 days when your turn arrives.

| Poetry Archives |
|
We developed the Poetry Archives to be a great place to find poems to read and review based upon different categories. As is the case throughout the site, except on the New Poems List, all poems listed are the least reviewed poems within that archive.

|
For every poem you post online, you can pick from over 65 categories to place that poem into. You can then search all poems online based upon one of those 65 categories. Another great feature is you can select up to 10 of your favorite categories, and post them into your Favorites Page.

| Poems By Form |
|
For every poem you post online, you can pick from over 80 different genres--or forms--to properly identify the type of poem you have written. You can then search all poems online based upon one of those 80 genres. Don't know the particular genre you've used? No problem! You can choose N/A until you figure it out, or until you ask one of our helpful members to see if they can help you categorize your poem's genre.

| Yesterday's Favorites |
|
Everyday you can select up to 20 poems and nominate them as one of your site favorites. Each night, the system will tally all the poems selected, and present up to 20 poems as a Yesterday's Favorite! Who knows, one of them could be yours.
